Who is John Gardiner?

Hi folks. I hope you all enjoyed whatever holiday you recently celebrated, and that you find peace, satisfaction, and some rare oop items in the coming new year. I have a question for you. I have been looking at several releases by Elton Dean on the Slam and Cuneiform labels, and some of these feature cover paintings by John Gardiner. I was unsuccessful in obtaining more info about this person, so I've come to you. Is this John Gardiner a famous or noteworthy painter? How can I find out more about him, and hopefully, see more of his paintings?

I don't think this is the same guy as his art from the above are more screen print variety, no? (did see some "pottery w/ tulips / zinneas" on a poster site tho but not like the covers)
