The trumpet player, Danny Blankenship, and I were in middle school band together under the spirited tutelage of Bernadette Spencer! I stopped playing trumpet after middle school. Danny went on with it and attended Peabody, the New School, and Queens College Aaron Copeland School of Music. I have only seen him a handful of times since graduating from high school, and had a blast playing with him at my brother's house one drunken night a few years back. Of course, he is on an entirely different level of musicianship that I, but we had a good time anyway.
