Bob Scobey, Turk Murphy, Clancy Hayes and Wally Rose are among the featured sidemen. The set comes with a lavish booklet of great essays, photos and memorabilia. 96 tracks in all.

The Debut Records Story (4 CDs) - regularly $59.98, now $39.98

The short-lived Debut label was a bold experiment owned and operated by Charles Mingus and Max Roach in the early '50s. These 60 performances from the label give a great view of the jazz scene in those years with lots of great bebop performances includng the Massey Hall concert and an all-star four trombone sesson and tracks leaning toward the disonant and the experimental. Thad Jones, Paul Bley, Jimmy Knepper, Kenny Dorhan are heard in the first recordings as leader. Comes in a strudy cube with an extensive booklet.

The Riverside History Of Classic Jazz (3 CDs) - regularly $39.98, now $24.98

The original 1956 Riverside boxed set, a great historical reference with rural blues, ragtime and Harlem piano rolls, historic New Orleans and Chicago recordings from the Gennett and Paramount catalogs, New York tracks from Ellington and Henderson and much more. The booklet includes rare photos and an essay by Charles Edward Smith.

Jazz At The Santa Monica Civic (3 CDs) - regularly $23.98, now $18.98

This 1972 revival of Jazz AtThe Philharmonic is an inspired live concert. The Basie band with saxophonists Jimmy Forrest and Curtis Peagler plays a great set highlighted by a number of Frank Foster tunes. Ella's set is on fire! But the real highlight is a Jazz At The Philmarmonic All Stars with Roy Eldridge, Harry Sweets Edison, Al Grey, Stan Getz, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown.
