Did anyone here personally know Marvin Brown (trumpet)?

He was my Jr High music teacher and a hell of a trumpet player. with Charlie Barnet, Prez Prado, Rene Bloch, etc. Jay Corre told me Marvin was the most natural jazz player he every knew.

I would like to know more about him.

Lord lists him on four sessions between late 50s and 65

He made some Latin big band records.

He made a small date, 5 or 6 players on a Mode record (I think) with Jay Corre. They were both sidemen.

I'm having trouble finding more info on this. I don't have "Lord".

Apart from that one which contains two Challenge lps there's a Rene Bloch date - Much Rock with Rene Bloch on Andex reissued on a VSOP cd. Lord also list Dizzy Gillespie with the Neophonic Orchestra from 1965. No issue details.
