fkimbrough Posted May 11, 2010 Report Share Posted May 11, 2010 The reason the school wasn't mentioned in the interview is that times have changed, and that kind of thing would no longer happen there. It was a long time ago - 1977, and an entirely different environment. All of the professors I had back then are gone, and the school and I kissed and made up years ago. Since then I've taught jazz piano at a great summer music camp there, and on several occasions I've gone back to play concerts and teach master classes at the School of Music. I met with the new dean just a couple of weeks ago in New York - he's a great guy, and I look forward to visiting the school again in the future. For that reason, I won't mention the name of the school - there's no point because it doesn't matter any more. If anyone just has to know where I went to college, I'm sure they can figure it out.
