The reason the school wasn't mentioned in the interview is that times have changed, and that kind of thing would no longer happen there. It was a long time ago - 1977, and an entirely different environment. All of the professors I had back then are gone, and the school and I kissed and made up years ago. Since then I've taught jazz piano at a great summer music camp there, and on several occasions I've gone back to play concerts and teach master classes at the School of Music. I met with the new dean just a couple of weeks ago in New York - he's a great guy, and I look forward to visiting the school again in the future. For that reason, I won't mention the name of the school - there's no point because it doesn't matter any more. If anyone just has to know where I went to college, I'm sure they can figure it out.
