a quiet day in Hanoi

I can't watch the video on my (work) computer, but I have vivid memories of trying to cross a major thoroughfare in Hanoi - probably ten lanes, though there weren't any lanes. At one point, I hired a tuk-tuk (Thai name for three wheel motorcyle - I can't recall Vietnamese name) to take me across the street. He went around the block to do it.

You simply start walking, and don't, for the love of god, stop walking until you're on the other side. The bikers expect this, and will avoid you; if you hesitate, you're toast.
