AmirBagachelles Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I have such a Sam Rivers "Streams" LP, sub-glossy non-gatefold sleeve, not even a mid-weight vinyl, no reissue date. Anybody know this series? Quote
Parkertown Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Yep. I have a few (Out of the Cool, Blues & the Abstract Truth,...) and I think they're outstanding. They say they're digital, but they sound analog to me. Some have stickers stating cut at Kendun Mastering on some nice vinyl blend. They're real quiet. I did recently compare the Out of the Cool one with a green label ABC 70's pressing that real clean too. They sound different...; this test made me wonder that they could possibly be from digital or that there is possible noise reduction. It sounds great on its own. It's only when you start comparing them, that you really take notice of the differences. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of these. They're usually very clean and quiet. If it's cheap and you can't find a quiet vintage pressing, I'd say go for it. Quote
David Ayers Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Ah! Thanks for the tip. I have seen these around - I'm gonna buy some. Quote
