mikelz777 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) So I'm playing CDs on my player, all new discs and when I get to the 4th disc of the day, I started getting playback issues with a particular disc. I can still hear the music but I get a choppy/pulsating static noise starting with the 2nd or 3rd track. The music kind of pulsates as well. I stopped the player and restarted the disc only to get the same choppy/pulsating static sound but it's not always in the same places. After starting and stopping that particular disc several times and advancing tracks etc, I continue to get the choppy/pulsating static/music sound but it's not always in the same place and it varies in intensity between the different stops and starts. I quit messing with that particular disc and advanced the player's tray to the next disc which played fine. The disc with the playback issue is brand-new and was housed in one of those cardboard sleeves. The playing surface is a flawless mirror finish. I know the air is very dry in my home right now. Is it possible that this particular disc has somehow got a static charge to it? Any suggestions on what I can do or what it might be? Edited January 8, 2011 by mikelz777 Quote
