Due to government budget cuts the kidney facility he was on a list with has been closed down due to lack of funding. This means Dayna Stephens will need to start his wait over from square one. If you are willing to get tested to see if you are viable match for donation or can donate any sum of money to help him offset his medical needs while he waits and goes through this process of daily dialysis and eventual transplant, your help is profoundly appreciated. thank you….

Saxophonist Dayna Stephens (www.daynasound.com) is an internationally renowned saxophonist, composer, bandleader and educator, and a popular face in the East and West Coast Jazz scenes. But he has a rare kidney disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) which affects 20 out of every million people and is waiting on an urgently needed kidney transplant. He faces costly anti-rejection medications at a monthly rate of over $4,000 a month for an indefinite time period.

the dayna stephens quintet performed at smalls wednesday march 13.

his music is as beautiful and thoughtful as i've heard in a long long time.

the quinntet will be performing again at smalls tomorrow(thursday night).
