David Beardsley, a former student of La Monte Young, composes music in Just Intonation. His music will be featured on Joel Krutt's "Pushing The Envelope: Music Decidedly Left of Center." The program will feature some of Beardsley's unreleased works in addition to the two works we've released below.

as beautiful as a crescent of a new moon on a cloudless spring evening (2004) for string quartet, performed by Christina Fong (violins, viola, cello) [30 minutes]

November Test Pattern, the ecstasy of electric trees weeping in the twilight including recumbent bright insects and relevant footnotes (2009) for just intonation sine tones, performed by David Beardsley (synthesizer) [10 minutes]

...and most probably, a bit of microtonal Just Intonation guitar too, :shrug[1]:

Sun afternoon bump.

I wish we had more time to play more music on Saturday.

Radio/streaming broadcast, I hope you can join us. If you're not in town, all you need is an internet connection and a computer with speakers.

Just a reminder folks, WHSU will be featuring my music this Saturday morning. If you're not in the area, you can still listen to the streaming web cast. There will be a rare broadcast of my string quartet, maybe only the second time it's been on the radio. Tune in...
