alocispepraluger102 Posted October 30, 2012 Report Posted October 30, 2012 The program, taped in 2012 at the beautiful 17th century baroque Abbey of St. Florian in Austria, finds The Orchestra under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst performing Bruckner’s most popular and most-performed work, one that was nicknamed by Bruckner himself as his “romantic” symphony. The location of the performance is particularly notable in that the composer was a choirboy at the monastery of St. Florian, later served there as organist and chose to be buried in a crypt below the Abbey.
