i love cats and i love birds. That NZ guy is right, cats are killers one of the main causes of the steep decline in songbirds is the domestic cat. he's onto a loser tho' if half of all new zealanders own cats.

the answer? apart from putting bells on all cats (cruel), there isn't one: cat lovers will continue to say so what and bird lovers will continue to wring their hands. And those that love both will feel increasing angst every time their cute little furball brings them a cute (but dead) little featherball as a tribute.
