David Ayers Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) Well, you will know the genesis of the Aladdin Sane piano part and if you don't you can read about it on wikipedia. Surely among the most memorable bursts of 'free' piano... oder nicht? Edited March 20, 2013 by David Ayers Quote
robertoart Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Not as memorable as Bowies in-'sane' clip for Let's Dance? What a true 'innovator' Bowie is. So cool to be a part of the 'Berlin' set Quote
David Ayers Posted March 20, 2013 Author Report Posted March 20, 2013 Bowie was and is a great musician. You can remember as much of his stuff probably as you can even of your own let alone anybody else's. But I was referring to Mike Garson's contribution to 'Aladdin Sane'. Quote

Bowie really gives me the shits I'll read about it on wikipedia. I can remember so much of his stuff because it was rammed down my throat as part of the 'pop' music world. I like most of the 'hits' though. His 'arty' conceptual pop is a bit wanky though. He lost his Mojo because he is really a Pop musician, not a true artist. Edited March 20, 2013 by freelancer Quote

Bowie really gives me the shits I'll read about it on wikipedia. I added a bit more, David. I do think he is over rated and he is perhaps seen as more important than he was because he was very clever and had a lot of interest beyond being 'just a Pop hit maker'. But ultimately his contributions may be revered more for the fact he was very 'arty' in an insightful way. above and beyond the call of duty for a Rock star. Anyway back to your scheduled topic.
