StarThrower Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) I'm stunned! I've been a big fan for almost 25 years. Brozman always seemed to have so much zest for music and life. He had an incredible amount of knowledge concerning traditional music from around the world. This is really sad news. Edited May 2, 2013 by starthrower Quote
7/4 Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/apr/28/bob-brozman According to his long-time collaborator and producer Daniel Thomas... In 1980 Brozman was involved in a serious car crash and, according to Thomas, "suffered severe pain in his spine and his extremities ever since". A year and a half ago, Brozman told him he was unable to play Hawaiian guitar. "He said 'My hand won't do it' ... and he was the greatest Hawaiian player since Tau Moe." While recording his last album, Fire in the Mind, "there were times when he just had to stop, and it was incredibly painful for him". According to Thomas, Brozman "took his own life. He said he was dissolving before his own eyes, and he was devastated by the loss. He struggled to imagine his life without an instrument in his hands." Quote

Chalupa Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 I hesitated to post this because the accusastions are so serious and the deceased has no way of defending himself. But this story seems to be getting a lot of discussion elsewhere. Accusastions of child molestation... http://www.santacruz.com/news/2013/04/30/the_life_and_legacy_of_bob_brozman (read comments) Quote
