Admitted to the Manhattan School of Music at age 16, Parks was already recording and touring with Terence Blanchard's band by the time of his graduation. Since then, he has played with such artists as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joshua Redman, Matt Penman, and Eric Harland, and has celebrated his Blue Note release, Invisible Cinema. Parks has also been the recipient of several renowned jazz awards, including Third Place in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition and First Place as the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association.
