erwbol
New live record out now on Abstract Logix. Guitar legend John McLaughlin performed across America during Summer 2013 with his trailblazing band, the 4th Dimension (Gary Husband on keyboards and drums, Etienne Mbappe on bass, Ranjit Barot on drums). The final concert in Boston, which was held at the Berklee College of Music, was recorded for this live release. This fiery performance features music from John’s recent studio albums Now Here This and To the One, not to mention the classical Mahavishnu Orchestra song. You Know, You Know. When asked to describe The Boston Record, McLaughlin said, “From time to time, a live record is made that has everything: great collective playing, a terrific audience, fantastic recorded sound, and a wonderful atmosphere. In the new recording of our concert you’ll find all of the above. I’m really happy about this recording.” The Boston Record Track List 01. Raju 02. Little Miss Valley 03. Abbaji 04. erwbol
I didn't realise the interview earlier is about the new album. Perhaps this thread is superfluous. I ordered the new record earlier today. According to a review on Allaboutjazz the horrid sound quality of the previous (studio) album has not been replicated live.
