iCloud Drive

I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Shawn?

Last night, I upgraded my iCloud storage to 200GB to free up some hard drive space. I have drag/dropped about 16 folders from various locations and my iPhoto Library totaling 140GB on my Macintosh HD to my iCloud Drive with the expectation that I would see an increase in Free Space. This is not the case. In fact, I seem to have less Free Space than I had last night...

I'm wondering if the migration process takes time and there is not way to monitor progress? When I log in to the computer under my wife's username, I am still showing 5GB even though the account has been set up as Family.

OSX Yosemite

I should note, when I look at the iCloud drive capacity on my phone, I am showing 124GB. That is not at all what the laptop tells me.

I have a time machine capsule set up, but am hesitant to delete files from the macbook! I have two young children and very little time to do the requisite research that I was once able to keep up with.
