David Ayers Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Posted January 9, 2015 The Governor was a really good character but they dragged out the story for SO long... Quote
Scott Dolan Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) The only interesting aspect of the Governor was his daughter, IMO. Aside from that I found his character painfully boring, and that contrived accent just made it even worse. ***SPOILER ALERT*** If you're not caught up on the show, you don't want to read any further. When they killed Hershel, I was saying to myself that if the Governor makes it through that episode I was going to give up on it. If you're going to kill off the most interesting character on the show, it's only fair you also kill off the least interesting. Edited January 9, 2015 by Scott Dolan Quote
David Ayers Posted December 8, 2015 Author Report Posted December 8, 2015 This series goes from worse to worst. There was a point when it seemed no-one making it was interested enough from episode to episode to make anything of it. Now it's as if they aren't interested from one minute to the next. Oh, a character. Oh, a zombie. Oh, a fight. Oh, somebody is a bit upset about something. Oops, somebody get deaded. Next, please! Quote
JohnS Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 More or less gave up on it after series two. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 It had gone downhill to the point that I was going to bail, but I'm glad that I didn't because the first half of this season has been the high point of the entire series. Quote
David Ayers Posted December 8, 2015 Author Report Posted December 8, 2015 I did like that one which was just a two-hander between Lennie James and his mentor in less-lethal violence. Made a change from the Rick et al. lecturing the other lot about 'not being ready for the real world' yet sort of stuff. Quote

Kinda sucked that they wasted such an interesting character and actor on a single episode, but not being afraid to kill anyone off is part of what makes the show so good. Even though last season they really started relying on it as the main plot. But, last season was just fucking awful. The storyline with Glen this season really pissed me off, but they redeemed themselves in the revealing episode with the collapse of the old church. And the final scene of the final episode was incredibly well thought out. Not your cheap run-of-the-mill cliffhanger. Best season of the series by far, IMO. And from what those who have read the comics have told me, the best villain in the series will be introduced in the second half. I'm actually looking forward to it.
