Later the elder statesman of bluegrass, Bill Monroe's stature was universally recognized by the '70s. He was still making fine music, and attracting the cream of the young musicians. This set includes the 'Bean Blossom' album, as well as eight other original MCA/Decca LPs. The 'Uncle Pen' album, included here, is generally recognized as one of his all-time best. The 90 recordings on this set also feature the young lions of bluegrass music, like Marty Stuart, alongside veterans like Jim & Jesse and Kenny Baker.

The CDs and the box set contents are like new. The box itself is solid but shows signs of normal shelf wear. The best price on Amazon when you take into account what you'd pay for delivery is $58.00.
