Really sad to hear of the passing of The Gentleman of the Blues, Mr. Johnnie Bassett. He was one of the most gracious, beautiful musicians I've had the pleasure of playing with. His smile could warm an entire room. Rest in peace, Johnnie. Love you always.

Heading home from a wonderful four days in NYC. Made music with friends, saw some old friends, some new friends, and capped it off with a stunning show by Brian Charette and his trio last night at the 55 Bar. One of the most creative organ trios I've ever witnessed. Home bound to my girls!

They need to invent a shake delivery service. Vanilla malt, please.

Very sad to hear about the passing of Wendell Holmes of the Holmes Brothers. I'll never forget the joy of playing with them for the Gospel Brunch on the Legendary Blues Cruise in January of 2011. Wendell was a complete sweetheart and a visceral force on stage.
