Started out holding hands, but she was pulled as far away from me as possible by the time it was over

I'm not going to press you more, but I just gotta know this, who did? Who pulled her away? Just sayin', my girl, me and that dude are going to have a talk out back. Just how I roll 😁

It reminded me of one of the acid trips I had taken, in a good way.

I took a date to see it, and that was a one-and-done. Not even food afterward. Nope. Straight home.

Need more detes, what do you mean "one-and-done"? I may have had those kinda dates....🫠

I avoided those ezz-thetics releases up till now for several reasons. I always enjoyed the released by Hatology but came to find out they made the silly decision to omit essential tracks for cds there as well. The latest cd reissues of Steve Lacy’s Prospectus and Blinks for example should have been two cd sets but they decided to omit tracks and make it 1 cd. I bought the vinyl instead for that reason.

Love the Hat Hut/Hatology label, but don't get this series at all.

    Wasn't thinking fast enough.

LOL's, I get it! It's usually in the car ride home, when all the questions I wanted to ask comes to fruition.

Well, my suggesition is that you attend more Charles Lloyd concerts, run into Don Was again, but this time with a sheet of questions. 😁

I saw a a few weeks ago at a Charles LLoyd  concert.  Even talked to him:  asked him if they'd recorded the concert.  His answer was that they record all of Charles's concerts.

Did you by chance slip in the Mclean/Hipnosis bug in his ear....😎

Sonny had retirement forced on him.

But that coul happen to anybody, so yean - carpe diem!

Right! Sonny was dealing with a breathing  issue, and I am so glad I saw him at Severnce Hall in 2001. 3rd row!

  6. I have excellent pics, and vids, but stuff is uploading slowly.  Besides mini-moog (expected) all acoustic bass and piano, much in the flavor of the Chicago period. Bonus, everyone was in costume! Marshall, wasn't there, but another old-timer was, Ray Copeland (Phidelphia?).  What a great show and my wife went holy bonkers out on the Sun Ra merch, which I have a pic of. Great to see that 20 and 30 year olds were there, which shows how the younger generations are appreciating this music!  Hnads down, one of the best concerts I've ever attended.

That’s not bol.com using those photographs this is the actual artwork used by the label…. I’ve got a part of this session on the Disques Transversales label which was legitimate and from the tapes. It’s one of my favorite Pharoah Sanders sessions so curious to hear the rest but if this is a bootleg I”ll pass.

Thanks, Pim. That address was posted here, and I got confused. Wish there was a CD release, but alas.

At 78 (79 in October), it's not hard to believe that he's going to slow down a bit. At least he hasn't gone the route of other aging stars like Benny Golson or Lou Donaldson, whose last 10 years or so of tours were pretty much the same show over & over. Even Johnny Griffin did it to a certain extent.

Just me, but I'd still go to those shows, and listen to the same playlist. Made poor choices in the past, like for example, passing on Brotz when he was in town (I was hoping more for a "Die Like A Dog" setting) but it was hardly that, and soon after, he passed.

Agree, that I haven't really been interested in Dave Holland's music for some time, not since the mid '80's, but like others from that generation, maybe it's time to retire and enjoy life. Sonny Rollins is retired, why not legends like Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland enjoy their amazing accomplishments and patio live too.
