JohnJ Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 I will be there for three days at the end of this month and wondered if anybody had any recommendations for CD stores or live venues. Also, any thoughts on restaurants and sightseeing would be welcome. Many thanks in advance. Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 JohnJ - I haven't been to Hamburg in a couple of years, so I can't advise too much, but Hamburg DOES have two Zweitausendeins stores - definitely check them out!! Zweitausendeins 1. Colonnaden 9, Tel. 040-35 71 84 31. Zweitausendeins 2. Grindelallee 71, Tel. 040- 44 78 88. I'm sure they probably have a Saturn, which should have a good selection of jazz, and I recall they had a World of Music store that also had a fairly good selection at the time. For sightseeing I highly recommend a tour of the harbor. Also a trip to Hamburg would not be complete without a visit to the Reeperbahn, which is the "red light" district", but also very touristy. The Beatles started on the road to notoriety there... Quote
JohnJ Posted September 18, 2003 Author Report Posted September 18, 2003 Thanks Aggie87. I'll definitely check out at least one of the Zweitausendeins. Quote
