slide_advantage_redoux
Just sitting here listening to a great session recorded live in 2000 at the Jazz Standard in NY. I had seen this one floating around on Ebay from time to time but never got around to buying it till now. I am sorry I waited! Roswell is in rare form. and with the addition of Grachan plus Archie, Andrew Cyrille, Reggie Workman and Amira Baraka...what else can I say. Great compositions, and wonderful interplay. I couldn't recommend this strong enough!
White Lightning
I second that. Love this session!
JohnS
This is a nice date. Not up to the original recordings but some of the old magic is still evident.
king ubu
This is a nice date. Not up to the original recordings but some of the old magic is still evident. My impression, too. The two trombones produce very cool sounds, there's some earthy playing, but Shepp himself is somewhat disappointing, in my opinion. And I LOVE the early Impulse recordings of Shepp. ubu
