Best Leslie setup for A-100?

4 posts in this topic

Hi I'm a Newbie here! Killer site so far.. Hammond area and Jazz! I found out about this on All That Jazz, where I have around 200 posts. Anyway, I've got a Hammond A-100 I don't play it alot maybe once a week. I have been a drummer for a while and there's a keys player who plays the nearby Rhodes, but I think this A-100 sounds awesome. It might sound better though--if I could find the correct Leslie speaker setup for it. Keep in mind the A-100 has 2 12" built-in speakers and a 3rd 12" that pushes a Reverb circuit. Any advice would be appreciated!

An A100 will sound good through almost any dual-rotor Leslie. A model 122 would be great; a 147 would be great, too. Likewise the 47, 22H, 21H, 251... lots of options. The new Hammond Leslie 3300 would sound killer. It's all based on your budget.

When Suzuki Musical Instruments bought Hammond in the early 90s they also purchased Leslie. The new 3300 is one of the best Leslies ever made, imo.
