Only time I witnessed Lee Konitz in concert he was playing in trio with Marc Johnson and Joey Baron. I feel privileged. R.I.P.

Yes, a nice one here.
3 tracks by Albert and Scofield.

I figured Albert Mangelsdorff would be a trombonist who'd do that sort of thing. I immediately thought of Zo-Ko-Ma, a trio record he made with Attila Zoller and Lee Konitz. ... Almost there but one too many musicians.
After some poking around on discogs, I found this:
It's a 7" Metronome EP that anticipates Mangelsdorff & Koller's collaboration with Lee Konitz by 11 years.
🙂
Good call, similar instrumentation is this long time favourite of mine:
[edit] Now, it would be cool if Lewis and Frisell did a duo session. [whew... saved ]

This John Abercrombie Trio album, thank you very much.

She made some records as well. Haven't heard any of those, though.

I was also listening to an album he participated on just recently. A nostalgic favourite from late 1980's when I was starting to like "jazz."

I've been using Genelec speakers for decades. Fantastic monitors and the only one you'll ever ever need in this lifetime. I've got 2 rigs, one has 2x 8020 + subwoofer, another 2 x G One (the smallest and cheapest Genelec monitors).

Really like this Terje Rypdal trio with Palle and Jon Christensen (rip!). There's a phenomenal audience recording from Cambridge, Massachusetts, March 1980, being shared on dimeadozen. Their studio album was awesome, as well.

I listened to snippets available at amazon and was very impressed. Now I need this. Badly.

I picked up the Bitches Brew 7-inch cardboard sleeve SACD used in Japan for cheap (also some others in same format: Santana Lotus and Jeff Beck Wired), probably will do the same for this.

BTW, is this a CD-R (or "CD on demand") ? Pressed CDs are always silver (or gold), never colored, as far as I can tell. I thing Promising Music also did those MPS reissues on black CD(-R)'s.

This arrived today. Had been looking for the Japan mini lp replica sleeve version for ages. Yes I know about the upcoming Mosaic box, but it's one of my absolute favourite albums of all time.

No need, I'll pass on this one...
I can sense the Thrill is not only Gone, it might have never been There in the first place.

Amazon has 30 sec snippets, check it out (you can hear Miley Cyrus singing Thrill is Gone.)

In my opinion the sound is fantastic for this vintage, I also listen with headphones. Fantastic stuff, Roy Haynes especially shines.

This one, has some great as usual playing by Mr. Ed Bickert. We all dig Bickert, don't we?

Mutter should've,kicked her ass, like Gerry Mulligan almost did once.
I think John Zorn did threw something at some pesky photographer. That almost counts as kicking ass. Or she could have given a vitriolic lecture like Keith Jarrett. (OK, maybe that's too much.)

Jack Bruce Band Live '75, with Carla Bley and Mick Taylor. It was a good band.

And then the effect of drugs wore off?

Mrs. Rooster is back home in KC for a week visiting her folks (left just this morning), so time to listen to a whole bunch of things that she could only abide so much of -- this being the first thing on after work tonight.
Anyone else have this obscurity? Not too hard to find on CD, but no less obscure probably.
I do. Interesting album and the reissue has attractive presentation but definitely not essential.

In your collections what is the rarest item anyone has?
Currently probably this one:
There were only 500 pressed and I think it's kind of rare by now, some 45 years later. Maybe some recent release I've got among something 6000 CDs and 1000 LPs I've got is more rare, so to say, but pressings nowadays are more scarce anyways so they don't count.

It’s common for Japanese to import CDs and print Japanese translated inserts and OBIs to them and sell them under new catalogue numbers, considerably more expensively.

I dropped a $3 bottle of whisky yesterday and it shattered. I was so mad.

Just dug this one out, hadn't listened to it in ages. It's fine, but not too interesting or memorable, similar to the other piano album he did in the 1980s.
