  1. It looks as though ICP isn't the only label on the way out. I see that at various places Hat, Intakt, Emanem, and PSI catalog are on sale. Jeez. I could have spread the money around instead of concentrating it on this one collectible. Having said that, if anyone has seen these other sales and can make any quick recommendations I still may have some money left to pick up a few bargains before all these great labels disappear.

    Intakt too?

    I hadn't heard that.

Where are Intakt CDs on sale??

Cadence (Klompfoot) had a 24hr sale - unfortunately it finished on the 12 Dec

I that that was just Cadence reducing stock to go out of business, not necessarily the labels going under.

I didn't know that Cadence was going out of business. I would have thought they might notify me if that were the case. Maybe not, I guess.

I get the impression Cadence is liquidating stock. I would not be surprised if they did go out of business. Great place, I've been buying from them for at least 25 years,

  2. I got mine.

Number 651. I hope they did sell that many!

    52 CDs

2 DVDs ( surprisingly the Afjin DVD isn't included, but then most everyone who ordered this probably has it already)

There is an unreleased cd in place of Afjin.

The discs and covers are all in fine shape, the flimsy cardboard divider is all ripped up. I'll do some repairs on that at some point.

The book has just loads of great photos.

The discography insert is a godsend as most if the individual CDs don't list contents.

This was an expensive set, but a relative bargain on a per cd basis (approx$10 each)

I had just sold some lps and CDs I didn't need anymore and was able to pay for it using that $$. I do feel good about that. I would have seriously regretted missing out on this. I can't wait to dig in!

    #20 just arrived:

    ICPBX2012.jpg

Anyone else get their copy yet? The discs were a bit of a mess in the box, but they fit fairly well once straightened out. I'm still going to put them on a shelf, and store the box. Although I have owned most of the early vinyl for years, I'm looking forward to hearing some of the discs in the ICP 30-45 range, as I have not heard many of them. It is going to take awhile to work through them. It will be a blast.

  3. Thanks for the answers. I did see that on facebook and got that email. I was wondering if there was anyone in Europe who had gotten theirs in the mail or in person. Pretty excited to see what extra stuff they dug up, especially from the 60's and 70's releases.

  6. ******I just sold a few more and for one week only I will offer free shipping in the US for anything here, now through November 14th******

    Hi All-

I just added a bunch of new items below and marked down some other things. I need to make room here for carville baby #2 in a few short weeks.

Most were purchased new by me (or my brother) and are in excellent condition.

There may be minor jewel case scuffs on a few but all inserts and discs are mint (unless noted).

And if anyone needs a referral as to my reliability, I am a friend of Ronald Lyles, a frequent participant here.

shipping $2.00 per cd, $0.50 each additional US only (doubles count as 2 discs). Overseas actual costs. Paypal is easy for me.

    Regards, Christopher Carville

  7. Digging the Nessa re-issue of "Spirit Catcher" a lot, wow, the sound; as well as the new double CD "Spritual Dimensions" from Cuneiform with the Golden Quintet (Vijay Iyer; John Lindberg; and both Pheeroan Aklaff and Don Moye) plus a group called "Organic," which takes off the on the electric Miles side of the high Wadada.

What did you think of the editing on Spiritual Dimensions? The pieces seem to begin and end in the middle. You can hear the audiences reacting to the music, yet there is no applause at the end of any tracks. I like some of the grooves, Pheeroan AkLaff and Don Moye are always welcome participants on any sesssion, and the electronic atmospheres are engaging. But I'm not satisfied with the edits, somehow. That, plus I think more could have been made with all that guitar ingenuity available on disc 2.

I was at Firehouse 12 for the live sessions that became cd2 of this set. When I first read that Nels Cline was going to appear here, I was disturbed because he wasn't performing with the band that night. Sure enough, his parts were overdubbed. A lot of the sort of ambient electronic stuff is NC overdubs, not what went down that night. Left out were 2 performances (1 from each set) of the great piece from The Procession of the Great Ancestry lp "Who Killed David Walker?". And there are indeed several edits.

There was lot of fine guitar interplay that night between Brandon Ross and Michael Gregory Jackson as well as Leo's grandson for parts of each set. I was really excited to know the shows were being recorded for Cuneiform, but disappointed when I heard that only 1 disc was going to come from the Firehouse 12 sets.

I think the cd is somewhat satisfying, but the performances that night were great, 3 hours total. We had a wonderful evening, and Leo seemed to really be enjoying himself with many friends and family in the audience. I still think that a nice 2 disc set could have been compiled from the show...but then I've always preferred concert tapes to studio/produced albums.

  8. Scott in Parkertown here with #2039!

I shall be spinnin' this set tonite...much to the wife's chagrin... :)

I have set #55, I paid for that baby the second I heard about it, and have probably played it around 2x a year since then. I just played a few cds of it last week actually.

Great stuff, I can't believe you couldn't sell 10,000 of those Chuck.

Now for your next box set?
