main-ee-AIR-ee?
I second that.
Or I would guess : "May-ain-AIR-ee", that's what we would say, here in France...

Hi everybody,
What must I do to find the whereabouts of master tapes in United States ?
Let's take an example : recordings for Flying Dutchman in 1974-1975.
Just curious...
Thanks
Steven

Now, I plan to write a whole book on Elek Bacsik.
If you have a friend who played with him, or any information that you think confidential, please contact me.

I had the problem just once before and the disc finally arrived after a second one the compiler had sent me. I can't believe that the postal services in France are as bad as what we have to put up with in the UK though
I received mine this morning, one week after Brownie, and there are a few miles between our houses !

A great live recording. I have never seen this album on CD. Perhaps a japanese pressing exists ?

Here are anothers of Anthony Barnett’s exhaustively researched, interestingly programmed releases of jazz violin...
ABCD1-015 STUFF SMITH
That Naughty Waltz

including his leadership of Fats Waller alumni Herman Autr(e)y, Ted McCord, Al Casey, Sammy Benskin, Al Hall, Slick Jones in 1942

plus Helen Ward with a 1937 Teddy Wilson Septet Featuring Stuff Smith with Jonah Jones, Ben Webster, Lawrence Lucie, John Kirby, Cozy Cole
plus a bonus all-star jam session aircheck by Karl George, Stuff Smith, Lionel Hampton, Teddy Wilson, Vernon Alley
ABCD1-016 REX STEWART AND STUFF SMITH
Summertime
THE 1963 ST-ONGE LA DUETS AND NARRATION
Previously unreleased informal private session recorded by Roger St Onge in Los Angeles in which
Stuff Smith and Rex Stewart talk about their early days in jazz and play the most beautiful duets, solos and vocals
plus a solo performance of Clair de lune by Smith and bonus band sessions with Smith and Stewart

I can see at least one other UK resident has his but disc has still not arrived here. I've had this problem before and think it is because of an unreliable local delivery service - they put mail into the wrong houses and some residents will pass them on, others don't bother. So cannot join in the discussion.
I have the same problem in France. Brownie has already received his disc and I do not have mine for the moment.
I had no problem in the past with the discs of Randy Hersom and Brownie...

The seller says that it is the version of the 11 November 1955. How can he say that ? It could be the one of the 01 or 02 March 1956, session Chamber's music with Paul Chambers! It would change everything!
That's suspect

Absolutely terrific work all around, from the photos to the interview to Brownie's reminiscinses. What a great read.
I second that !

My best wishes as well Evan !

1990 and 1992 in the EMI 'Jazz Time'series
So sad, Daniel Nevers did not (could not) continue this fantastic serie. Materials of Stéphane Grappelli or Kenny Clarke in this serie had not been reissued yet on CD.

I don't have the disc yet...
... but I love its cover
I do not have recieved the disc yet...
