Dan I am (painstakingly slowly) converting all my CD collection into digital format, musician by musician. (this time it’s the Japanese Jazzdisco.org, not the most complete or reliable one) 😜
  3. 1954 comes next. Three tracks from: (reissued on 'Early Art') Plus four from: (reissued on 'Bag's Groove') Four from: (reissued in 'Movin' Out') And finally three from: (reissued on 'TM and SR')
  4. Movin' on to the 1953 sessions: Miles Davis Sextet, Sonny Rollins with the MJQ and Thelonious Monk Quintet, contained in the following discs: &
  5. Now the 1951 sessions, led by either Miles Davis or Sonny, and scattered across the following discs: Skipped: the 1951 Birdland broadcasts.
  6. Now heading to Bud Powell's Modernists session from 9 August 1949. Tracks "Bouncing With Bud", "Wail", "Dance Of The Infidels" and "52nd St. Theme" from:
  7. Second stage: J.J. Johnson Quintet (11 May, 1949) and J.J. Johnson's Boppers with Sonny and Kenny Dorham (26 May, 1949): I am only listening to those tracks with Sonny, but you have either the Classics CD or the digital copy on Spotify. Enjoy the re-bop thing!
  8. First stage in my summer trip through the entire recorded output of one of my heroes, Sonny Rollins:
  9. Chris was working on a Lil Armstrong autobiography (“as told to”) for some time but he gave up some years ago.
  10. I would need a “None” option
  11. Those are exactly my feelings...
  12. Some of my favourite Dexter there! Strongly recommended.
