Now that I am giving this a spin, I know why I haven't listened to it in years. Mallard is the Magic Band with out the magic and Sam Galpin is not a Captain.

Hell...I'm glad both groups exist. But I really like the Fast 'n' Bulbous disk a lot. Let's say Back to the Front is for hardcore and completest fans.

How IS that album? I've seen it in the stores. Pretty good. Covers, but very well done. John French sings an excelent Beef. Makes me forget it's not Don.

Maybe we should create a thread where AAJ refugees can communicate with each other?

I picked up PORK CHOP BLUE AROUND THE RIND by Fast 'N' Bulbous: The Captain Beefheart Project (GARY LUCAS • JESSE KRAKOW • RICHARD DWORKIN • ROB HENKE • PHILLIP JOHNSTON • JOE FIEDLER • DAVE SEWELSON) yesterday. It's a real kick ass collection of Beefheat with some amazing horn charts by Phillip Johnston.

But then so is Trout Mask Replica.

The last three albums, Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller), Doc at the Radar Station and Ice Cream for Crow are amazing.

I'm wondering if there may be a problem. I ordered last Wednesday and there is still no charge on my credit card, no CD in my mailbox and no email, anything at all from DMG. DMG is a very small store run by two guys. They can get busy. I usually give them a call and check in if I want to order something from them. You'll usuallu get Bruce or Manny who, although gruff, is very helpful. Five guys.

Unless you live in the desert. Here it's more like 27 days 'til summer. I'm hoping that this will be a Spring in NJ like the old days...instant transition into Summer.
