I’d have to recheck JC Ref again, but “every time” may have been misidentified as “I want to talk” in precious release(s). As I noted in prior posts, the only track that had not been released previously was the (real) “I want to talk”. And to your point, they may have gotten more onto a CD — perhaps that is something for the future?? recall, though: prior releases of these concerts may (probably?) be based on high quality private recordings of the original radio broadcasts — like MANY unofficial releases out there — whereas these were from the original studio tapes that were apparently in rough condition (based on the liner notes). Perhaps these were the only salvageable tracks?? Don’t know….but it is a fair point.

Huh, mine was fine! However, it sat in France for over two weeks (in/at La Poste) prior to being finally shipped to the US, then it was about a week from NY to Chicago. La Poste has been having a very rough time lately, having been subjected to TWO separate and severe DDoS attacks -- which may be behind some of it. Interested to hear your thoughts on the recordings, though. I'm assuming the CD was something other than the Coltrane...I didn't see that was an option/available.

By the way: I did just receive this Coltrane Finland recording from Lost Recordings. The engineering in the final mix is quite good and with a very high-quality 180 g pressing, so the sound is terrific! I already have the 1961 Helsinki concert via the European tour compilation "So Many Things" (CD) and the 1962 Helsinki concert via the Le Chant Du Monde European tour box set (also CD) EXCEPT THAT "I Want To Talk About You" (from the 1962 show) was never released on any recording -- bootleg or otherwise, based on the John Coltrane Reference -- so this is likely a first-ever issue of that track! This Lost Recordings version has a MUCH higher quality sound than the other versions I have, so I'm glad to have it. What's more, it comes with an access code to get a complimentary download of the entire 2-LP set in lossless .aiff file format -- which is easily converted for digital backup to a burned CD. I took a chance on it, and am very pleasantly surprised at the outcome!

All of this info is also in the John Coltrane Reference, to which Wild is a contributor. One thing, though: the last “Impressions” (7/4 in the Wild table quoted below) is actually thought to be from the Berlin show (see JC Ref, pp 696-698). As best I can tell, the only “new” piece of music on this release is the 1962 show’s “I want to talk about you”. It has been known of (see JC Ref) but this may be the first hearing. Everything else has been made available by various releases through the years, for both 61 and 62 Helsinki shows.
