  1. Romanowski is currently not playing because of a concussion and may retire. He's also being sued by one of his teammates because Romo tore off the guy's helmet during practice and then punched him so hard in the eye that the guy broke bones and is out for the year! Great teammate, huh? Romo's 'nutritional advisor' is also being investigated for possibly being involved in doping track and field athletes with a nearly undetectable human growth hormone(Barry Bonds, he of the 45lbs. of muscle gained in his mid-30s is also a customer of this clown).

  2. I'm a Yankee fan(OK, go ahead and flame away, but I've been a fan since '64, and I've suffered through the Horace Clarke era, Stump, etc.), and I think Little deserves the Baseball Bonehead of the Year award, with Dusty Baker a close second.

I thought Pedro was coming out after seven, as he rarely pitches beyond the seventh inning anymore and his pitch count was way up there. Little had a rested bullpen and plenty of guys he could use. The bullpen had also performed beautifully, better than the Yank bullpen(With the notable exception of Rivera.) For Chrissakes, he could have gone matchup on each batter for two innings! Rare is the player who is honest about whether they are gassed or not- the overwhelming majority will say that they are fine and can get the next guy.

Little managed himself out of the game, and Torre made a few good moves to save the game from being a rout. Once he saw that Clemens didn't have it, he turned to Musiina, who pitched brilliantly in relief. Bringing in Wells backfired, but I could see the logic behind it. Keeping in a guy who was getting rapped around like Pedro was is absurd.

In '86, McNamara left Buckner in when he had a better defnsive player in Dave Stapleton on the bench because he wanted Buckner to be part of the on-field celebration- curse, anyone?

  3. I'm a Yankee fan, but if they don't make it to the World Series, I would love to see a Cubs-Bosox series- somebody would have to win it, and either the 'Curse of the Bambino' would be over or the Cubbies would end nearly a century of futility. I was surprised to see the Cubbies win yesterday, because usually when a team has bases loaded and none out and doesn't score they lose. Kerry Wood had to deliver the blow with his bat, as if his excellent pitching wasn't enough!

  4. I go there regularly, probably too regularly, as I work in lower Manhattan. They frequently have great sales, and I've shopped there for over 15 years and never had a problem with a return or anything else. If they run their mailorder like they run their store, you have nothing to worry about- they are a reputable and reasonable merchant(and their prices are wayyyy better than Tower!)
