I read an old interview with Herb Hancock (reprinted in one of those anniversary issues of Downbeat), where he says it was Miles who got him to play electric piano; in fact, it was on the recording session for "MIles in the Sky." According to Herbie, he came to the session; Miles pointed to an electric piano, and told him to play it. Terrific session.

I've been mining the Emanem mother lode for Bailey, Lacy, Evan Parker, SMO/John Stevens and John Butcher albums for a while now and have a pretty good collection from the label. Martin Davidson is an unsung here for documenting this vital and important branch of free jazz. BTW, the name of the label comes from Martin and his ex-wife, Marilyn (I think).

That's pretty much my approach to it. I use the Audioquest and have no issues with it. Very occasionally I use a spray like "Phoenix" from Sleeve City to wipe off a fingerprint. I never "wash" records. Someone from Rega once told me that they recommend against that; good enough for me.
