  2. Damn! The surface shipping option is no longer a possibility for international buyers. I wanted to order the Mulligan on its own but $15 for a $44 order, that's a bit too much. I'll wait a bit and combine it with another big set (Either the Peterson or the Crosby)

Yet I'm glad that we now have the possibility to go the Fedex route. It seems that my request to Mosaic has been heard! excited.gif

  3. I pre-ordered the Integrale Reinhardt vol.2 1938-47 (Fremeaux) on Amazon.fr a couple of weeks ago for 12.08 euros. This was clearly a mistake as this set contains 14 CDs. A few minutes after I had placed my order the price had already been changed to 58.95 euros. Fingers crossed. dirol.gif I hope they won't realise they've cocked it up.

  4. Sounds good - but hopefully Music Matters will do a 2x45rpm stereo issue of 'Evolution' at some stage !

I've bought a lot of those Music Matters pressings. They are really good. The Grant Green 'Matador' is next on my list although I've already got it on King.

The art work seems to be different from the King sleeve for some reason. The 'Inventions and Dimensions' is very tempting. Thanks for the up, Brownie.

  5. The Chu Berry, Woody Herman and Benny Goodman sets will be here soon! excited.gif

    Won the pools? greengrin.gif

I wish! greengrin.gif It's been a while since these sets have been on my list. They've been on backorder for quite a while so I've had enough time to save some $. I've hesitated to buy the Goodman as I have most of the music on the Chronological Classics label but I've read so many good comments on the sound of the Mosaic that I couldn't resist.

  6. What was your Donaldson box doing in Italy, Bob?

That's where it came from, Yves. Mosaic had sold out and I resorted to "Plan B". Glad I did !

And I'm flying out there tomorrow and it's 25-26C and clear skies.. :excited:

Lucky you! Enjoy the nice weather and the excellent food. I've been grounded at home with a sprained ankle with ligament damage. I've been on the couch for three days, enjoying the Donaldson set... That's football for you!

  7. Again, the box arrived damaged! Not sure Mosaic will have a spare one to replace it.

The local posties must have a grievance !

My latest sets have arrived OK - thankfully. Lou Donaldson from deepest Italy must have had a risk factor 10 but it arrived pristine. The box for the HRS set was punctured though (and I noticed that the Mosaic packaging was not as bomb-resistant as usual).

This morning - another spin for CD1 of the Quincy Jones set. Me likes :rsmile:

Some of the local posties must have a fetish with Mosaic boxes...

Listening to the 4th CD now. I hadn't listened to Lou for too long and I had forgotten how much I love his music and his sound. I'm glad I pulled the trigger for this one. Lou wasn't the most innovative sax player in the history of jazz but he was undoubtedly an excellent musician.

What was your Donaldson box doing in Italy, Bob?

  8. Same as Bob for all the Mosaic sets and the Blue Note stuff

All the Shelly Manne at the Black Hawk albums

Oliver Nelson 'the Blues and the Abstract Truth'

John Coltrane ( the Impulse albums especially)

    Wes Montgomery ( Riverside box)

    Bill Evans
