Alfred Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I saw this expensive box on the CD Universe site. Does anyone have any opinion? Never heard of Masayoshi Takanaka. CD Universe Quote
jazzbo Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 From the little that I have heard from him he is a fusiony guitar player that has a lot of flash and drive. . . . I wouldn't buy the box set without checking a single lp or a few first! Quote
Guest Chaney Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I'm not at all familiar with Takanaka but here's a bit of info I found -- which may or may not be accurate: Takanaka The Box - Kitty Years will be released on May 26th according to HMV JAPAN. The box will contain all the titles from the Kitty era... that sounds almost complete box (See *Note blow). 15 CDs and a DVD we are already familiar of. Then one extra CD comes with songs not released in the original LPs before! (No details at this time of writing...) Even more... a mini stick (it originally came with Ocean Breeze LP) will be yours! All CDs are replica of original LPs in terms of jacket and CD label design. This sounds it is definetly a collectors item. More surprise! You can be a winner of drawing to get YAMAHA SG2000 MT!!! (Not officially confirmed at this moment but they are planning this sort of thing...). How much is that? Well, that's 28571 yen. That's almost THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS! Now you know what will be in that box, but I am listing them below just in case. Takanaka The Box - Kitty Years (#UPCY9001) SEYCHELLES CD TAKANAKA CD An Insatiable High CD BRASILIAN SKIES CD ALL OF ME CD JOLLY JIVE CD SUPER TAKANAKA LIVE CD T-WAVE CD FINGER DANCIN' CD /* this was a mini LP */ THE RAINBOW GOBLINS _NIJI DENSETSU_ CD ALONE CD OCEAN BREEZE CD SAUDADE CD CAN I SING? CD _NATSU ZEN KAI_ CD Bonus CD (a collection of songs not released in original LPs) THE RAINBOW GOBLINS _NIJI DENSETSU_ DVD (*Note) I'd say "almost complete" because some of them are missing in the box... CHA CHA ME/BACCO (LP/CD) TAKANAKA SUPER LIVE (VHS) Guitar Fantasia (VHS/LD) They should have considered including Guitar Fantasia DVD in the box. Judging by the above, looks like the CD Universe price is on the high side. Quote
