Dave James Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 It occured to me when I was contributing to the "The Day The Earth Stood Still" thread that some people may not be aware of the best source on the Internet for finding information about movies, television shows and entertainment in general. It's called the Internet Movie Database and can be accessed at www.imdb.com. If you've ever seen a picture or a show where you said, "where have I seen that guy before" and you gots to know, then this site is for you. Joe Bob says "check it out." Up over and... Quote
mgraham333 Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 This site has settled many bets for me and gotten me out of a number of infinite brain loops. Quote
Brad Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Yup, that's a great site. The place to decide it all. Quote
BruceH Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 It's been on my bookmark for a long time. Very good reference site. Quote
Brandon Burke Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I find that I use the All Movie Guide more often, though I too have IMDB bookmarked. IMDB includes less information pertaining to cinematographers, editors, etc. And the reviews are too short. Reviews are never to be trusted outright, of course, but I'd prefer to know if a particular film features neo-nior cinematography, clever editing, a career-defining performance by [so and so], etc. And IMDB doesn't give you this information. I suppose I'm somewhat baised towards AMG but I will say that the All Movie Guide is considerably more reliable that All Music, which has its share of faults. Quote

I check both sites as well...I like both, a few more names perhaps at IMDB, but like you said, longer, better reviews at All Movie...and yeah, I don't know that I have even caught one mistake at All movie(At least that I can remember) very different than All Music!
