JSngry Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 Ok, so I finally got hold of a copy of the UNDER GLASS/I PRESUME 2-fer on British MCA, and it's great to have those sides in toto rather than as incomplete parts of compliations BUT... It says that it includes the four earlier sides the group cut for Trend as bonus cuts, and it doesn't - it only contains two: ""They Didn't Believe Me" and "Georgia On My Mind". What is left out are "Peg O' My Heart" & "My Baby Just Cares For Me". Are those two cuts available anywhere on CD, compilation, OOP, whatever? Or even on an LP from the mid-70s onward? Bonus Question: I keep reading about four Hi-Los Starlite albums. All I know of is these two (UNDER GLASS/I PRESUME). What are the other two? Are they full albums, repackagings of other material, or what? A song listing of these other two albums would be appreciated if possible. as I'm trying to put together a complete collection of their pre-Columbia recordings, which I think are on the whole superior. As always, thanks in advance! Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 The 4 Trend cuts are on Kapp KL 1027 with material from the Jerry Fielding Orchestra. My Baby Just Cares For Me and They Didn't Believe Me are also on a 2-LP compilation MCA 2-4171 titled Collection, which could be easier to find. The two full Starlite albums: Starlite ST7006 Listen To The Hi-Los June in January Little white lies I don't want to cry anymore She's funny that way Whatever Lola wants Island of desire You brought a new kind of love to me Fools rush in Have you met Miss Jones? Where are you? You can't hardly get them no more Starlite ST7008 Hi-Los On Hand Lulu's back in town Mam'selle Clap yo' hands You must have been a beautiful baby Last night when we were young Indian summer April snow You took advantage of me 'Round my old deserted farm All I do is dream of you The touch of your lips You and the night and the music Mike Quote
JSngry Posted August 22, 2004 Author Report Posted August 22, 2004 Thanks, Mike. That's useful information. Under whose name is that "Collection" thing? Quote
