Dave James Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Be sure to let Aric Effron know. I realize he's headquartered the Seattle Tacoma area, but I don't think a cross country jaunt is out of the question when you're good friends. Up over and out. Quote
sal Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Have fun! They put on a hell of a show. Quote
sheldonm Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Just had to share. I wish I would have known, I would have sent you a nice photograph to have signed for yourself ! I made this about a month ago. I hope you had a great time! Mark Quote
sjarrell Posted October 2, 2004 Author Report Posted October 2, 2004 Wow, wish I'd had that pic! The show was great: no Dr. Lonnie, Just Lou playing with the Duke University Jazz Ensemble. Sometimes with the entire 22 piece band (Fried Buzzard, Dat Dere, Limehouse Blues), others with smaller configurations (Launching Pad and a sublime "Laura"). The man has not lost a single chop. Some of LD's relatives from Badin showed up too! I got an autograph and a handshake... Quote
Chalupa Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 (edited) One of the most hilarious things I've ever read on a BB was the "transcript" of the phone conversation between LD and Aric on the old BN BB. Can someone post it if they have it?? Edited October 2, 2004 by Chalupa Quote
sheldonm Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 One of the most hilarious things I've ever read on a BB was the "transcript" of the phone conversation between LD and Aric on the old BN BB. Can someone post it if they have it?? No shit; that WAS funny! Lou had to have though he was having a dream (or nightmare) provided it really happened. Quote
Guest ariceffron Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 it really happened. since i knew then (as i still know now) that lou wont come to the W. coast i knew that it was my duty as a fan to call him to say what the hells up. Quote
RDK Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Since when won't Lou play the West Coast? Saw him last year at the Jazz Bakery in L.A. Quote
Indestructible! Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Yep, I saw him at the Jazz Bakery last year as well... great show (although the same jokes for both sets was a little much). We need him to come back! Cheers, Shane Quote
