Claude Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I just discovered these future DVD releases on jazzmatazz: January 2005 - Lena Horne - An Evening With Lena Horne - DVD (Blue Note) Jan - Bobby McFerrin - Spontaneous Inventions - DVD (Blue Note) Jan - Michel Petrucciani/Wayne Shorter/Stanley Clarke/Rachelle Ferrell - The Manhattan Project - DVD (Blue Note) Jan - Michel Petrucciani, Jim Hall and Wayne Shorter - Power of Three - DVD (Blue Note) Jan - John Scofield - Live Three Ways - DVD (Blue Note) Jan — with Dr. John, Don Pullen, Joe Lovano; three different groups I'm looking forward to the "Power of Three" DVD. Was this previously released on VHS? The "Miles Davis - Isle of Wight" DVD, long announced but delayed many times, seems to have changed it's title to "Miles Davis - Miles Electric - A Different Kind Of Blue". Announced release date is November 8, 2004. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00009QNXN Quote

Claude Posted November 10, 2004 Author Report Posted November 10, 2004 from jazzmatazz: Miles Davis - Miles Electric - A Different Kind Of Blue - DVD (Eagle Eye Media) Nov 16 — Miles at the Isle of Wight Festival in the summer of 1970 with Gary Bartz on soprano sax, Chick Corea on electric piano, Keith Jarrett on organ, Dave Holland on electric bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums and Airto Moreira on percussion; also includes interviews by former band members and other musicians; 78 minutes CD Universe link According to the Miles Davis biography by Ian Carr, the Miles appearance on that festival lasted only half an hour. Will the rest of the 78 minutes be interviews? Quote
