Hardbopjazz Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 I am looking forward to seeing Lou Donaldson again at the Village Vanugard at the end of November. This will be the eighth time I will have seen him live. Every time I've seen him, he varies very little from prior shows. It must get a bit tiresome for the musicians to play the same tunes day in and day out. I wonder if he thinks this is the first time the audience has seen him live. But still he plays at 100%. Anyone else planning to see him? Quote
RDK Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Ah man, I need more caffeine in the morning. I first read the title of this thread as Sam Donaldson at the Vanguard. Lou's a lot more fun to see live! Quote
dsgtrane Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 I'll be in in NY that week and am deciding between seeing him, the Mingus Big Band at the Iridium or a show at Tonic. Quote
