Brandon Burke Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Can someone please tell me the address on the back of the first Milt Jackson Blue Note LP? Yesterday, I found what I'm pretty certain is an original pressing for a not unreasonable price (given the significance of the date and all). Thanks, Brandon Quote
Peter Johnson Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Brandon, my original (I'm pretty sure) DG copy has "767 Lexington Ave NYC" (in "script") on the labels and "767 Lexington Ave., New York 21" on the bottom middle of the back cover. Does this help? PJ Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Peter's information is correct with one big correction to the original question. The real originals were 78s with no cover art - next came a 10" lp with a cover reproduced on the front of the current RVG. Quote

For comparison: (although that's not what I have--I have the copy shown in Brandon's post). Quote
Brandon Burke Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Oops. Forgot about the 78s. ...and the 10". This is a W. 63rd copy. I went down there today and traded some stuff I didn't really want anyway. So I'm happy. B-) Quote
Brandon Burke Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 CORRECTION: The jacket on my copy says W. 63rd but the labels on the disc itself are like your's, Peter. "767 Lexington Ave NYC." Also in script. I must have a second-run jacket with an original 1500 series disc. Interesting.... Quote
