sheldonm Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I was given some books awhile back and in the box were two old comic books that I'm not sure are worth anything. I'm sure there are some "youngsters" on the board who may know. ~The Invincible Iron Man (November 1952) ~The Flash (May 62) Both are in pretty decent shape considering the age. Is "pretty decent shape" an official grading??? Thanks, Mark Quote
couw Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 We used to check the Wizard monthly magazine for a price list. Does that still exist? You will want them in perfectly spick and spam straight from the press into a mylar bag and saved for posterity in a dark place with controlled humidity state to be of real value. But you never know. I could just as easily throw them in the trash....just didn't want to do it if they were worth anything! Mark Quote
couw Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I dug up an ancient catalogue, what are the issue numbers? Quote

couw Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 (edited) Flash #128 (Abra Kadabra) goes for 80$ when mint. Iron Man #2454 is not listed. Is this maybe another series? like X ditty this or X blob that? (this from a catalogue of almost 10 years old....) Edited January 12, 2005 by couw Quote
RDK Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Something's odd, Mark - Iron Man didn't get his own book until 1967. There's gotta be another date or issue number inside (it's a Marvel book, right?) Yeah, the Flash books at around $75 in NM condition, but in "decent shape" ( ) I'm guessing it might only be $20 or so. Quote
Leeway Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 Best way to check is to check EBAY sales, current and completed. I had a few comics that I came across, put them on EBAY and they brought surprisingly good prices. Quote
