GA Russell Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 (edited) Because it won the Grammy last night, I've just added Illuminations to my Your Music queue. Does anyone have an opinion of this one? I suspect that it won the Grammy because the voters had heard of Tyner. I think that jazz Grammys are usually career achievement nods rather than really for the albums honored. But it still could be a good album anyway. So what say you? kh1958 Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 It's a very good recording. Terence Blanchard sounds outstanding as the featured sideman. Quote

GA Russell Posted February 16, 2005 Author Report Posted February 16, 2005 Thanks for your input. Interesting disagreement! For $4.99 I might try anything, so I'm going to put this one on the bottom of my queue, and if nothing looks better before its time comes I'll get it. Quote
