Free For All Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Just got this one, and it's really nice. Bill Cunliffe's date and arrangements (mostly sextet) of tunes by Earl Zindars, who most know from Bill Evans' versions of several of his tunes (that is if you can stand that Bill Evans guy ). Excellent recording, excellent solos and some really creative arrangements make this one to check out. Obviously an LA crowd with Bobby Shew, Bob Sheppard, Bruce Paulson, Jeff D'Angelo and the wonderful Joe LaBarbera. Anyone else come across this one yet? AMG LINK Quote

Big Al Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 WoW! Thanks for bringing this up! I’d never heard of this disc, but I need to pick this up pronto! Evans’ recordings of Zindars’ compositions are among my favorites of his, and “Elsa” is one of my favorite songs, period! Quote
