can somebody tell me if a jazzland stereo record (red label) from 1962 must have a deep groove on the label ??

Original Jazzland pressings have an orange label for mono, black label for stereo.

After the label was sold to Orpheum around 1964, many of the titles were repressed for the cutout bins with maroon labels.

I'm not a big fan of these original JAZZLAND pressings. The pressing qualitiy and the sound is sometimes very disappointing to me.

Nevertheless great music was recorded on this label.

Too true. Sadly, LPs such as Joe Alexander's 'Blue Jubilee' have yet to be re-issued to cd. W/Heath, Jones & Timmons on board, ya'd think this would have see the light of day...at least in Japan.
