Son-of-a-Weizen Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 From the Miami airport (Midday weekday), what's the 'average' drive time 'bout halfway down the keys (Islamorada). 2 hrs? 3 hrs? Thank you. Quote

Big Wheel Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 (edited) Midday, maybe 2.5 hours, IIRC. Rush hour going south...by the time you get back there won't be any voting to tamper with. Google maps says only 1 hour 38 minutes but I think that could be a big underestimate, especially if there is traffic on the highway on the way to Largo. I would budget at least 2 hours. PS: take 836 West to the Turnpike. You'll thank me later. PPS: don't forget to feed the tarpon. Edited May 18, 2005 by Big Wheel Quote

Wheel, if you're right about 836 W., I'll never say 'Cambridge' again. B-) Gracias. Quote

The Palmetto (826) to 874 to the Turnpike may be a workable alternative, and less distance. Taking US1 from the Palmetto, though, is a bad idea even if it's a shorter distance. Quote
Bright Moments Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 i agree 2.5 to 3 hours. rent a convertible and enjoy the ride!!! B-) Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted May 18, 2005 Author Report Posted May 18, 2005 Hmm, now there's an idea. Better still, might be a good idea to hire Gould to drive us and we can sit back and listen to 'S' from his collection. All the Horace Silver. Assuming he's still doing the 'A-Z' thing. Quote
