scottb Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Saw this in the store today. Anyone have any opinions yet? Larry Goldings on B3, Wurlitzer, piano. Guest include Fathead Newman, Warren Haynes, John Mayer. Quote
RonF Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 If you like Scofield funk - straight, no drifting. This is for you. Goldings is fine...with Steve Jordan and Willie Weeks. Hot horns on 3 or 4 tracks. Guest vocals, Dr John, Warren Haynes, Mavis Staples, John Mayer ( not bad), Aaron Neville. David Fathead Newman guest sax. It's one of those CDs that I just leave on the five disc turntable. It's good....everytime. Quote
Joe M Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 A little overproduced for my ears. More of a project for "the suits" than anything else. Quote
JSngry Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 The cuts I've heard on KNTU have been very pleasant. Quote
Dr. Rat Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 The cuts I've heard on KNTU have been very pleasant. ← We've added it here, and taken one track at a time, my complaints about the album fade in significance, which I often find to be the case--albums I wouldn't listen to straight through on a wage are OK or even good when they represent a bit of a change of pace. --eric Quote
