I'll have to look further on that - I know it was anthologized in somthing I read and probably have. The main character of "The Sound" is named RED. Bright Moments Posted June 29, 2005 Author Report Share Posted June 29, 2005 well the internet is an amazing place!!! i knew the story won the o' henry award so i looked for a book of o'henry prize winning stories. found one for the 1948 winners for 5 bucks and took a chance (no table of contents to help me) sure 'nuff it's there !!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks to those who were helping me out!
