I saw an advance copy of Guralnick's Cooke bio in a used bookstore last night. Refrained from buying--I'd rather wait for the hardback w/an index and corrections, and also throw some coins Guralnick's way. High hopes for this, given PG's excellent Elvis bios:

I agree that he's a very good writer, with a rare sense of humility in the face of art and life. I've read all of his previous books and will definitely get this one down the road.
