You're going to have to tell us what it was! Our own anecdotes aren't going to sound very interesting if we don't say what record we were looking for.

"I was looking for a record for a long time. I found it. The end."

It's a mini adventure. ;)

Seriously, we'd all love to know - please share and don't be shy - I promise there isn't one person on this board who has not been on a similar quest for years if not decades...

I'm afraid BeBop has left us clutching the abstract concepts of

the act of finding vs. the art of receiving.

Okay, there's plenty of Zen and Taoist takes on this.

"He who is controlled by objects loses possession of his inner self."

And, "When an archer shoots for nothing -- he has all his skill

If he shoots for a prize of gold -- he goes blind"

(the above courtesy of Thomas Merton, 'The Way of Chuang Tzu')

Still, for the benefit of us in the Western world, it'd be nice to visualize the object of

BeBop's 35-year search. We could better appreciate the energy he expended --

and compare it to our own.

Collecting is a disease, a mania, a curse, an illness, an obsession..... but there is no life without it for me! :w

I've been searching for more space for all the stuff I find all the time. THAT is the real problem. Once your collection(s) push(es) you out of your own front door, it is time to see a shrink ... or rent storage space.

Hell, I might have to sleep in the bathroom soon.

Off to ...

... rent some storage space. ;)
