sheldonm Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I'll be in Dallas (staying at a hotel near the airport) for a couple nights (August 17/18). Any of you Texans know a nice (or not so nice) venue to see some live jazz???? Thanks! m~ Quote

Joe Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Well, there might be some good live music at the Fallout Lounge (Exposition Ave, near Fair Park) on the night of the 17th (Wednesday)... Quote
kh1958 Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Just don't make a wrong turn (The neighborhood around Fair Park is pretty dire). Dallas' main cultural outlet for the out-of-town visitor are the numerous men's clubs on I-35. If you can find a copy of the Dallas Observer when you're here, it has a fairly complete listing of concert and club appearances. There's always the chance that Marchel Ivery might be playing somewhere, for example. Soul Stream Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Find out where Marchel Ivery's playing and go see him. He's one of the best tenors in the country. ...Jim is Quartet Out still holding down that weekly? Quote
